Working for a Stronger Cowichan Valley
A husband and father of two, Rob Douglas was born and raised in the Cowichan Valley and has deep roots in this community going back five generations.
As part of John Horgan’s BC NDP team, Rob will fight for working people and advocate for local issues, like affordable housing, climate action and health care services. Rob and John will work together to make sure people are kept safe and healthy through the pandemic, and that the Cowichan Valley gets through this challenging time stronger than ever.
Rob has had the honour of serving the Cowichan Valley as a two-term Councillor for North Cowichan and a Director with the Regional District. During this time, he has worked to address some of the biggest challenges facing the Cowichan Valley, by taking action on the housing crisis, defending the environment, advancing meaningful reconciliation with First Nations, and supporting the health services people rely on.
Through his time in local government and as a member of several community organizations, including the Cowichan Elder Care Co-Op, Cowichan Land Trust, and Volunteer Cowichan, Rob has experienced first hand how the choices made by the BC Liberals hurt our community. Rob has built strong relationships with Indigenous communities, environmental groups, and local industry. He knows that working together is the only way we can overcome the challenges facing our community now through the COVID-19 pandemic, and in the future.
Rob Douglas is ready to work for you.
